z.matrix is now a product of our friends at Sonic Core.

z.matrix is a plugin that enables you to steer up to 16 sound sources freely in space - using up to 16 loudspeakers. You can control every source on its own - or combine several sources into a group. Thus, you can move every input signal indepentely or control them together in groups. Every movement is controllable via mouse or MIDI and can be recorded and edited with any given sequencer. You can pan both live sources and recorded sounds.

Besides the free configuration of the loudspeaker setup, z.matrix allows you to configure the room as well. Any rectangular room dimensions are possible. By using the „room-independent MIDI" feature you are able to transfer any existing arrangement that has been recorded for one room to any other room. The sweet spot can be placed at any desired position depending on the position of the audience.

Furthermore, z.matrix eases your daily work with such valuable functions as doppler effect and distance dependent volume. The latter controls automatically the volume of a source depending on its distance and thus makes it very easy to generate a police car passing by.
